What’s New For Generac Guardian Automatic Standby Generators In 2006

August 30, 2006

Guardian now has the most powerful lineup of generators with the greatest motor starting capabilities on the market. The popular aluminum enclosures (optional) – a good fit for coastal areas where the corrosion-resistant metal will help prolong the look of the unit – are extended onto the air-cooled lineup as are electronic governors for higher quality electrical output.

A breakthrough in air-cooled generator design has their Generac 990cc OHVI engine driving the highest kW available through their upgraded alternator. Not only has thekW increased, the kVA has as well. Up to 5 ton air conditioning can be started with the new air-cooled product – even with a 40% auxiliary load.

The new Guardian QuietSource 16kW (LP fueled / 15kW on NG) model has the power to start a 5 ton air conditioning unit with 7kW of auxiliary load. And for homes with multiple central air zones, it has the power to run two 4-ton models. It’s expanded 16 circuit load center also maximizes the higher kW output to put more power in your hands. The patent pending Whisper-Test feature makes this the quietest air-cooled model on the market with weekly exercise sound levels coming in half as loud or less than competitive models. With a dB level of 59, the new 16kW Guardian QuietSource sounds like a car at idle.
