From: Wayne Gilchrist

Dear Fellow Do-it-Yourselfer,

Did you know that the labor costs on most residential electrical wiring projects account for approximately 66% of the total bid price? By wiring your own electrical project or troubleshooting and solving your own electrical problem you can save up to 66% on your project. In today’s economy, everyone is looking for savings everywhere they can. It seems that more and more people are tackling home electrical wiring projects on their own.

Sure, there are lots of books and other websites out there that explain the basics of wiring your own electrical project. However, I’ve noticed that most of them were not written by electricians and are either full of mistakes or have not been updated to meet the current National Electrical Code® (NEC®) requirements. Click here for 2 examples

But, what do you do when you get beyond the basics or encounter something that is not covered in the book?

This is where my services come in. I’m offering 22 years of experience in the electrical trade to you for a fraction of the price to have an electrician come to your home. As a licensed Master Electrician (see license below), I can help you solve any of your home electrical wiring installation or repair problems quickly and safely.

As a do-it-yourselfer, I understand you are trying to save money and solve the problem on your own. However, we all get stumped and need a little expert advice every now and then. Instead of hiring an electrician to come to your home and finish your electrical project; call, instant message or email me and I will help you solve your electrical wiring problem for a fraction of the cost of hiring an electrician.

Unquote Wayne, you are the Man! This makes perfect sense now. I have encountered a number of “interesting” situations with the wiring of this house, but I had never dealt with a 240 thermostat before, much less one that was done “on the cheap”, so to speak. The contractor who did the work originally is known for doing things that make you shake your head. You get what you pay for.

I will proceed with this tomorrow (Saturday). I will install the new double-pole thermostat (I would think this should be required in the NEC) after marking the line and load wires per your instructions. Like I said, it all makes sense now.

Thank you for the web site (which I have bookmarked under home improvements) and for your knowledge, time and super quick responses.

Regards,

Do you need assistance with your residential electrical wiring project?

Did a light or receptacle just quit working? Are you looking at installing ceiling fans or smoke detectors? Are you finally getting around to finishing off that basement and putting in that killer home theater system? Thinking about remodeling your kitchen or bath? I’ve repaired hundreds of lights and receptacles; installed hundreds of ceiling fans and smoke detectors; finished off several basements and even installed a few home theater systems; and remodeled several kitchens and baths. I will help you with any residential electrical wiring problem you have.

With my 22 years of experience in the electrical trade, I can help you solve any basic or complex home electrical wiring problem you may encounter. Such as:

  • 220 volt house wiring
  • Wiring a service panel
  • Installing a GFCI receptacle
  • Electrical wiring a two way switch
  • Wiring two electrical outlets together

Unquote Wayne,

My last room room you gave me instructions for worked perfectly. I expect this will to. This is faster and way less expensive than getting someone to come out to my house.

I can run the wire and install the boxes but get confused on where to make the connections Especially on three way circuits. So Ez DIY Electricity is becoming a cost effective way for me to wire my new basement rooms.

I plan on doing another room soon when I am finished with the bathroom and will send another layout and payment when the time comes.

Thanks for all your help.

How Does Your Service Work?

Option #1
Here you may ask a quick question via email or instant messenger. You may ask me a question about one electrical wiring, installation or repair project and you may also have 1 reply to clarify the answer or question. The questions and replies must be about one electrical wiring project. For example, you can’t ask me a question one day about your bathroom GFCI receptacle, then reply to my answer later with a question about installing a ceiling fan. All questions and replies need to be about the same bathroom GFCI plug; or whatever home wiring project it is that you are working on.

If you elect to use the instant messenger option, then this service is restricted to 10 minutes or less and confined to the same home wiring project. However, the instant messenger service only works when I’m online. You can determine if I’m online or not by viewing the “Live Help” section in the top right corner of every page.

The fee for this service is $19.95 US. This service is available to residents of the U.S. and Canada only. At this time, we only accept payments via PayPal. Please click on the “Buy Now” button below to make your $19.95 secure payment via PayPal.
